“Weeknote” for the Weeks 26 to 30 of 2025

In any case there naturally had been plenty of things and here's the gist to get an idea:
- we moved back to our old apartment once the remodeling was done,
- I played a concert with Sami's band Nordic View at the Haapavesi Folk Festival

- we had a family vacation in Germany which had been fun, and we had time to visit a few nice and museums and zoos. Also it had been quite hot there ☀️☀️
- I bought a few more pens, thus changed my pen setup a few times only to change the whole thing back and eventually opted for an even more minimal setup - and for that needed different refills (of course) and now try to get rid of all pens and notebooks I don't need anymore. Go figure!
- upon return home (where it had been even more hot ☀️☀️☀️) I more or less immediately started to prepare some of the charts for the upcoming 20th anniversary concert with the Oulu All Stars Big Band and China Moses next week
- and eventually/finally managed to decide on a theme for the blog, Themex's Braun, which I am still in the process of setting up. I had a hard time deciding on a theme and this one seemed flexible enough, and I haven't had a theme with a sidebar in... don't know actually… a while I guess. Sidebars are likely not that en vogue anymore. I blame phones for that (turns out at the least in 2010 the blog still had a sidebar).

Ugh... can you still follow?
Somewhere in between I updated my KDE desktop to 6.4 and, even though I can't really point my finger at what's new, things work as solid as they did before and nothing broke. So that's great!
I switched to the KDE desktop in March, and despite tinkering again with Sway every now and then, I enjoy KDE quite a bit. It's easy to configure and I can make it do what I want and had no issues with it ever since and don't see myself switching anywhere else any time soon.
Despite the whole "start-fresh" idea of this blog, I started to import some of my old photo-journal posts. Turns out I posted quite a few of those in 2010. I'm not yet done, but there are some already to give you an idea.
And yes, my summer reading plan...
I finished reading the Palin Diaries, that is, the last book "There And Back - Diaries 1999-2009" and why I started with the last book I can't really say. It's a mystery to me as well. I started to read "Clara and the Sun" but for whatever reason it didn't speak to me that much and I switched to Mai Mochizuki's "The Full Moon Coffee Shop".
And since I already got off the trail with "THE PLAN", I started to read Michael Palin's first diary, "The Python Years". I'm still on it, and eventually purchased the "Monty Python: Live At The Hollywood Bowl" whic I haven't watched in more than 35 years. At the least.
So, I think this is it for now. The next "week-note" will come eventually.
