Re: The Last Move

Not too long ago I told you about my "last move" and how I choose to again simply running my own blog. Well, I am still doing that, but, needless to say, I got the itch and had to move things around again (read: fiddle) and set up the blog with Hugo.

I had to.

Even though I had been satisfied with my org-mode based blog/workflow, I really would have liked to have TAGS, and while it is in all likelihood possible to achieve that with my Emacs/orgmode-based solution, the thought of fiddling and tinkering with the code didn't necessarily filled me with the greatest of joy.

Since a recent version of this blog had been running on Hugo I had a perfectly nice export with Markdown files and stuff, simply starting with a fresh Hugo-based blog seemed like a good idea.

It took me a little while to wrap my head around Hugo works, and in the end even decided to leave the org-mode/ox-hugo thing out of it, and simply stick to Markdown files, to make things as simple as possible for me.

In the process I am also learning how the whole thing with the themes in Hugo works and am happily fiddling with themes now, and in the process and implemented the Atkinson Hyperlegible variable webfont in the process, which I enjoy a lot. One small file to load, and all font-weights available! Nice!

I also implemented the Catppuccin colour theme in the process. It is not necessarily my favorite theme but it's nice and has ports for all kinds of apps and I am using it for example in Obsidian, Emacs, Ptyxis (the Gnome terminal) and a few other places as well.

Should you be reading this in your feed reader, here are some screen shots of the current theme:

Even though this is supposed to be a "fresh start" I will continue to import some of the older posts should the need arise and I am afraid some of the pages with have to be updated as well.

But one thing at a time!
