Miniflux!
If there is one thing that I have been consistent with other the past, I don't know how many years, it is my RSS-reading habit. It is a daily ritual and I rarely miss a day.
Over the course of the years I have been going through a selection of services and apps that I have used for some time or the other. Naturally there had been Google Reader, Inoreader, Feedbin (I wrote a little about this here), Feedly, NewsWrangler and whatever the first syncing service had been that NetNewsWire used to support back in the days. Naturally
I had been also using local-only solutions such as Elfeed (of course), Newsboat and a selection of iCloud based solutions.
Chances are there had been more, but they at the least at the moment, don't come to mind.
My latest addition though, is Miniflux.
I had been aware of the service/app but never came around testing it until I read about it on Kev Quirks blog.
Now, after about two months of usage, I can say that I enjoy it a lot. I am using the hosted solution to avoid any hassle on my part plus I hope that I can support the project this way.
I only use the web app at the moment which does everything I want that is, getting my feeds of course, it has support for the usual keyboard shortcuts and I like that it has built-in support for custom-CSS thus I can tweak it to my liking. No surprises with weird fonts or colour themes and what not 🥳.
I hate surprises.
And there are plenty of themes to choose from, and I went with first with the Catppuccin theme and then switched to a Nordtheme (using the colour theme on this blog at moment and am still tweaking both themes 🤦♂) but there are plenty of others. A selection of themes you can find here and this one is particular nice and I have used it for a while.

I might hook up some app to Miniflux at some point, but at the moment I am perfectly satisfied sticking to the PWA both on the desktop and the phone, which gives me a consistent, ie. the same experience everywhere. I did say that I don't like surprises, didn't I?
And yes, you can follow this blog via RSS of course.
